What is compressed air treatment?
Compressed air treatment is the process of purifying compressed air to make it clean and dry, so it’s ready to enter machinery and pneumatic tools. When compressed air is delivered straight from the compressor, it is contaminated with the likes of moisture, debris, and oil. Compressed air treatment removes these particulates using air dryers and filters.
Why is compressed air treatment needed?
Compressed air treatment is necessary because raw compressed air is not clean enough for safe and reliable use in most industry applications. When air is compressed, any impurities within it become more concentrated, which can lead to problems such as equipment damage or a drop in product quality.
Does my compressor need a tank?
It’s not strictly necessary to add a tank to a compressor, but in most cases it’s strongly recommended. A tank stores a reserve of compressed air so it’s available when you need it, rather than the compressor running constantly. It also helps manage moisture by allowing condensation to collect and be separated before the air is used, so the final output is free of impurities.
